Peppermint & Fennel Digestive Tea
Soothe bloating and settle your stomach naturally.
This cooling, aromatic tea pairs peppermint's menthol with fennel's carminative oils to calm bloating and settle your stomach fast — a gentle herbal remedy made in under 10 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 tsp dried peppermint leaves
- ½ tsp fennel seeds, lightly crushed
- ½ tsp dried licorice root (optional, for sweetness)
- 1 cup boiling water
- Raw honey to taste
Instructions
- 1
Lightly crush fennel seeds in a mortar or between your fingers to release oils.
- 2
Combine peppermint, fennel, and licorice root (if using) in a tea strainer or infuser.
- 3
Pour 1 cup of just-boiled water (200°F — not a full boil) over the herbs.
- 4
Steep for 7 minutes, covered, to trap volatile oils.
- 5
Remove infuser, stir in raw honey if desired.
- 6
Sip slowly after a meal or whenever bloating strikes.
Pro Tip
Covering the cup while steeping traps the menthol from peppermint — uncovering too early is the #1 reason herbal teas lose their potency.
