Holy Basil Stress Relief Tea

Adaptogenic tulsi tea to calm the nervous system and ease tension naturally.

8 minutes1 cup

Holy basil (tulsi) is one of Ayurveda's most revered adaptogens. Paired with chamomile and lemon balm, this evening tea gently resets an overstimulated nervous system without sedation.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 tbsp dried holy basil (tulsi) leaves
  • 1 tsp dried chamomile flowers
  • ½ tsp dried lemon balm leaves
  • 1 tsp raw honey
  • 1 slice fresh lemon (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1

Bring water to a full boil, then let it cool for 1 minute (around 200°F).

  2. 2

Add tulsi, chamomile, and lemon balm to a tea infuser or small strainer.

  3. 3

Place in your mug and pour the hot water over the herbs.

  4. 4

Cover the mug with a small plate and steep for 7–8 minutes.

  5. 5

Remove infuser, stir in honey, and add a squeeze of fresh lemon if desired.

  6. 6

    Sip slowly and breathe deeply.

Pro Tip

Steep covered for the full 7–8 minutes — covering the cup traps the volatile aromatic oils that give holy basil its calming properties. Drink 30 minutes before bed for best effect.
